LBBC

Lake Beauty Bible Camp. It's been too long.
We went up there yesterday and we didn't want to leave.

Things are a little different. For starters, I was really impressed by all the signs everywhere. Buildings have names now!
If you haven't been to LBBC for awhile, Mill Point is now the Welcome Center.
But I'm pretty sure that coon trap has always been there.

It was gorgeous out! A beautiful day to be at camp.

Labor Day Family Camp was in full swing. We borrowed a campfire to make some hot dogs.

Then we headed out to our first activity. Guess what it was.
We knew where to go because of the sign.
Well, even if it wasn't there we still would have known. But it meant a lot to Svea!
She was telling us all about the horse ride before we even got there.

Svea noticed a funny smell.

So did Elin. How often do horses get baths?

I used to go biking and running back here in these fields with our beloved dog, Clyde. That feels like a million years ago.

Svea was very excited that the helmet matched her purple sweatshirt.

Our little cowgirl is looking good.

Svea rode Sedona.

The wranglers were happy to let Nate lead Sedona, so off they went.

So fun! Svea was just thrilled.

Then we went over to the climbing wall.

Nate helped the kids into their harnesses. Svea was happy that the harnesses were purple.

At this point Elin was starting to get pretty tired.

We got Viggo ready to climb . . .

. . . and ten seconds later Elin fell asleep.

Viggo climbed first.

He did an excellent job! I was very impressed how quickly he scaled that wall.

He was at the top in no time.
Our friend Zach was up there to recieve him and said Lake Beauty history was being made. :)

Then Svea started up. We assured her that Josh would take good care of her and not let her fall. She was just fine with Josh helping her out.

She didn't get too far, but that didn't bother her. She said climbing the wall was "a wittle twicky."

Nate watches as Viggo gets ready to go on the zipline.

After just a moment or two of hesitation -

He was zipping through the trees in no time!

It was so fun to watch him! He loved it.

Elin slept through it all.

Svea climbed up the stairs through the tower to the top. She was interested in doing the zipline. I was not so interested in her doing the zipline but wanted to see what she would do. She sat with Zach and chatted for ahile. See her little feet poking out the top?
Then she came back down.
The zipline was twicky, too.

Nate climbed up the wall so fast I didn't even have time to get a photo of him climbing.

But this picture of him going down the zipline totally made up for that.
I think this is one of my all-time favorite pics of Nate.

At the end Nate turned upside-down on the zipline and Viggo and Svea thought that was so silly!
I went down too, but no one took a photo of me. That's probably for the best. I really didn't want to climb the tower, but I wanted to set a good example. Also, this was the first time I had ever actually climbed the tower. When I wanted to go off the zipline, I'd just take the stairs inside the tower up to the top.
Perks of being the Adventure Director's fiancee.

From the tower we went over to the high ropes course.

Viggo really wanted to climb the Pamper Pole.
The Pamper Pole is a telephone pole that you climb up, then jump off the top. There's a bell hanging out in front of it and if you jump far enough, you can ring the bell on the way down.
I've actually done that.
There aren't any hidden stairs to help you out with the Pamper Pole.

Up he goes.

Viggo's enthusiastic cheering section!

He made it to the top! Didn't hit the bell when he jumped, but the V-man said he would try again next time!

Then we took the kids to the canteen. They got Slushies. Wow! Camp has a Slushie machine!

They ate their Slushies and played tetherball. That didn't really work. Anybody want to drink a dirt-filled Slushie?

We went underneath the Chapel to the Craft Hall.

My name is still there!
And I still love Nate Weeks.
Some things never change.
There's the gym; I can't remember the name of it. I know there's a sign for it somewhere . . .

A view of Lake Beauty, and the A-frame.

Before we left Nate took Viggo and Svea out for a ride on the lake.

Svea fell asleep on the way home. :)
It was amazing being back at camp with all the kiddos. We can't wait to visit again!
