While we were in Illinois for Christmas we stayed at Meme and Bo's house.
We were
completely unsupervised.
(Please note: What you read in this post may or may not be entirely factual.)

We made ourselves right at home. We used their appliances.

We wore their shoes.

We set the thermostat to just the right temperature.

Then we discovered they had Guest-Proofed the house.

Couldn't get into here.

Or here . . .

Or here . . .

They didn't want us going into rooms and closets . . .

. . . so we had to make the baby sleep on the floor.

And we couldn't go in here, either. I'm not sure where this door led but we suspect it might be to the dungeon.

They even tried to lock the fridge on us.

Even though we couldn't access anything, there were some fun surprises. Like when we went looking in a drawer for a screwdriver and found little babies in a bag.

And for two days this sheet of stamps sat on the counter.

Until we finally discovered the goods underneath it. A welcome sight, considering we couldn't get into the refrigerator and were starving to death.

When we did our laundry, we found the perfect place to hang
Viggo's tighties to dry.

And they might have a hard time finding the t.p.
Where'd it go?

That's right, it even vanished out of the kids' bathroom.
Hahahahaha!

Notwithstanding the gouge marks we left on the kitchen floor and the pile of broken toys and dishes that are hidden in the garage under a tarp, we left the place in remarkably good condition.
Thanks for letting us stay at your place, Meme and Bo!
(Not pictured: all the faucets we left running, thoughtful furniture rearrangement, etc.)
Hee hee! I never thought Maren would treat her sister and family so cruelly;) I hope you survived--sorry we missed you! Love,Sarah
