Happy Monday! We've had a good beginning to our week.
She used her Easter bucket as the base of the hat. Hard to see, but there is some polyester stuffing and also a small bowl of craisins in there. Yes - craisins. I'm just assuming that it authentic to Curious George (I didn't ask). As for the polyester stuffing, I have no idea what that was all about. Maybe she was filling up the gaps so the yellow part wouldn't shuffle around (I didn't ask about that either).
The hat was passed around.
Whoa! Big surprise in the mail from Nate - a serger!
If you are not in the sewing know, a serger is a sewing machine that uses 2, 3, 4, or 5 different spools of thread simultaneously, and it can sew a greater variety fabrics and produces stitches differently than a traditional sewing machine. I've always wanted one - sort of. I'm a little scared of it, but I am excited to get it going!
I told Viggo that the serger meant one thing: homemade underwear!
And after he got over his initial giggling, I got:
The Look.
Thank heavens Nate also included a book about how to use sergers.
I must just strike him as a person who would need lots of help with the Singer Professional 5 5-4-3-2 Thread Capacity Serge Overlock with Auto Tension Supercalifragilisticexpealidocious 2000.
I'll let you know how it goes, but I doubt I'll be able to scrape up any underwear models around here.
And our day wasn't possibly complete without a beluga whale puppet show.
