Nate and Viggo came home from soccer practice on Thursday night.
Nate said, "Well, Viggo's game is at 8:30 on Saturday."
And I said,
"A.M.?"A.M.

So at the crack of dawn we put the kids in the wagon and went to the soccer field.

Somebody was bright-eyed and bushy-tailed!

Viggo was in the thick of the fray.

Considering he's my son, it's pretty remarkable how coordinated he is. I mean I know he got a good dose of coordination genes from Nate but I would think my klutziness would trump any possible athleticism.

He scored the only goal for his team!
He also scored a goal for the other team.
Whoopsy-daisy.

We had had such a nice morning that after Nate left for work this afternoon, I took the kids to the park. Even though Elin was tired. I thought she might sleep in the stroller, and the other two could run around. So off we went, tired and wired, to Bellvue State Park.

Svea picked some dandelions. "Dese dandy-wions ah fo my fwiend Daddy."

And she carried that little bouquet around with her.

We pretended to be DuPonts. Like our summer home?

Just another lovely afternoon in the gazebo.

After awhile it got a little boring living the life of the rich and fabulous so we left for the playground.

And then things started to get a little crazy. It was somewhat cold but very windy, so it felt even colder. Little girls had freezing cold little hands. I had bundled Elin in as best I could but she was getting sad because she couldn't move under all the blankets, jackets, sweaters, hats, etc. Svea had on a light jacket. She insisted she didn't need a sweater. And it really felt quite warm outside at our house. But as we drove to the park there must have been a big temperature drop. While we were driving in . . . lots of other cars were
driving out.
Considering we were all chilled to the bone, I said, "Ten more minutes and we have to get going home."
Ten minutes later came too quickly.

This was the last photo I took before The Ten Minutes Is Over Announcement.
One person, who will remain nameless, had a mega temper-tantrum.
It was a doozy.
You don't want to know the details.
Everybody else at the park did though.
I could see them thinking, "Oh, there's crazy Mrs. Weeks and her load of blonde kids . . ."

We got into the car. There were lots of tears. An annoucement of
early bedtime. Some screaming. And removal of park privileges
until further notice.

There were
more tears. And some
attitude.
I turned up the Raffi CD quite a bit to drown out the noise.

We arrived home. Said person was put into their room until dinnertime.
Bedtime came early tonight.
Thank goodness.
Don't you just love early morning games...ugh. The good thing is it gets you out of the house and up and about.

Yay, Viggo!! What an awesome game! I love that both teams got a point (:
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean about temper tantrums like that. I understand because we've had a few like that in our house too! At least you got some gorgeous pictures!
