25"

We had a little taste of Minnesota this weekend!

Little people in our house were happy.

Nate couldn't get out of the neighborhood to go to work, even though he parked in the alley for an easy getaway. The roads weren't plowed . . . because of the weather.

Nate had some hard work to do.

And I had to suffer inside and drink delicious coffee.

And hang out with her.

I don't have any boots. This is why: we moved here, and had a whopping 3" of accumulated snow over the first two winters. My boots were a size too big, and after being annoyed with them for a couple years, I thought, why on earth do I need these things? So I donated them to Goodwill.

I guess it's about time to get a new pair.

Svea didn't like being outside while Nate was the only person in our neighborhood using a snowblower, so she came inside to color and play.

In for lunch and a baby-fix!

Now we're back outside.

I haven't seen anything like this in three years. I almost forgot icicles existed!

Oh, and then these made an appearance. Have you ever had peanut butter filled pretzels from Trader Joe's? Oh. Man. I bought these for Nate, but next time I'll have to get an extra bag for me. They are SO DELICIOUS. St. Cloud and Rockford people, you REALLY need to advocate for a Trader Joe's! Or open one up yourself and make a million bucks. I will come buy your pretzels.

While I was inside drinking coffee and sneaking pretzels I made Viggo a wooden pillowcase.

We finished up the day with grilled cheese and soup. And more sewing. Nate and the kids built a tunnel in the snow. And Elin slept a lot. All in all it was a great day!

  3. Love this post! I'll bet you guys are happy to have a snowblower! No one there has them! I've been talking to all of the work people, and they are so freaked out about this snow thing. We always laugh! I'm glad you got some white stuff this winter! More to come from what I hear.
Oh yeah, and I love Trader Joe's! We actually drive to Maple Grove to shop there every few months with a big cooler, and we just bring the frozen stuff back and stock pile it! Good stuff and good prices!
