30!

It was my birthday last Friday and we had the perfect day.

Svea woke me up with a bouquet of flowers.

Nate surprised me and took the day off so Rose could take over the household duties for the day.

I didn't have to escort Viggo to the freezing cold and dark bus stop in the morning. I got to sleep in and stay in my pajamas.

I didn't have to do the dishes.
I didn't have to make any food.
I just got to do whatever I wanted to do.
I love it when Rose gets to be at home on a weekday.
I started to wonder why I didn't turn 30 a long time ago.

I ran some errands around town with my best girl (well, the bigger one). She and I went to Caribou and I got a free birthday coffee of my choice.

This is the Campfire Mocha. As you can see this was no health drink.

Svea fell asleep in the car. I, on the other hand, didn't fall asleep for days after drinking the mocha.

When Viggo came home from school it was time to party!

I cannot explain the four candles.

But the turtle ice cream cake was delicious! Thanks honey!

Then I got to open presents and had lots of helpers.

This gift from my sister was a big hit.

See? I totally qualify in the age range. Now I just need some quiet time to work on my Wee Enchanted Garden. Viggo and Svea were very excited that we will be growing grass inside the house. Personally I can't wait to paint all the wee little rocks and accessories . . . in all my wee spare time.

Viggo gave me this stamp :)

It got a little crowded opening presents - so fun though!

Elin loved this necklace Nate gave me. Even though it came in a tiny box, Svea was convinced that inside the box was another bouquet of flowers.

Nate and I went to Ciatti's for dinner. The best eggplant parmigiana ever. And it was FREE.

What a great birthday. Thank you to everyone for your thoughtful gifts and birthday wishes :)

  1. What a perfect day! Maren is so talented at finding fun things--I love the wee garden! And Viggo's stamper was just too cute:) Can you believe that I have eaten at Ciatti's too? Many moons ago, like in, hmmm, 1994 when I visited Muppy and Liz. And it was yummy then--I remember the breadsticks fondly. Love, Sarah

  2. They do a free meal at Ciatti's on your birthday? I had no idea! We normally do Mexican Village for the free meal. Ciatti's looks better!

I've seen them at the toy store, and am just waiting for any excuse to plant one. Please update the blog with photos of your little treasures! And oh... the ice cream cake! I'm glad you had such a wonderful day (:
