Yes, it's 2011, and a couple weeks ago we celebrated
Viggo's seventh birthday.

Our old man.

Birthdays are super-special around here. I wanted to surprise
Viggo starting with breakfast. This looks like an ordinary white mug with hot chocolate inside . . .

But look what was waiting for
Viggo at the bottom! How cool is this!

So for breakfast, we had pumpkin pancakes (at
Viggo's request - I had just received a case of 12 cans of organic pumpkin, so he had pumpkin on the brain), clementines, and hot chocolate. My kind of breakfast!

He thought his dolphin mug was so cool!

We had hot dogs for lunch.

And
Viggo had an
entire can of pop. That was his
surprise from Nate.
Personally I thought the dolphin mug was way cooler but whatever.

Then
Viggo dove into his piles of gifts. Wow! Thank you so much, family!!

The peanut gallery was close by to politely watch presents being opened.

I am so happy
Viggo got a loom; now he can make us some new
place mats, napkins, rugs, etc.
Svea did some birthday twirling!
Sometimes after she goes to bed I put this skirt on.
Just kidding.
Maybe.
Viggo got Lego games galore.

And
Elin was totally getting into the birthday spirit! She was having almost as much fun as her big brother was.

Viggo got so many wonderful, thoughtful presents. Thank you to everyone!

Time for ice-cream cake.

I made this up for
Viggo in 2009 and he hasn't wavered yet from this ice cream/hot fudge sauce/
oreo layered dessert. But this year I was busy working, so Nate made it instead of me. Nate even made the hot fudge sauce from scratch.
Viggo was a little stunned when he found out Daddy made his birthday dessert!

Nate got the stamp of approval as a good cook.
Svea was excited about the
delish dessert too.

After several bites she declared herself near stomachache status.

Happy birthday
Viggo! We love you and are so proud of you!
The ice cream looks divine! I love the stomachache picture!
