What we do on a snow day.

As our local school districts continue to issue snow days because of the recent and never-ending deep freeze {central Minnesota guaranteed frost bite today in five minutes or less!}, we continue to plow on in our studies here at VSE Academy.

Viggo did math on the floor today - and he was laughing a lot.  Later I found out exactly what he was listening to: a cassette tape of Baby Snooks and Daddy.  It was the "Insurance Exam" episode - originally aired on November 30, 1939.  Viggo is now a Baby Snooks fan and has Grandpa Daisy to thank for that!

Grandpa Daisy knows what the good stuff is.

 Svea had a good morning with spelling and blueberry tea.

 Elin and I did a reading lesson.

Elin poses.
Elin poses - as Viggo says - "all the time."  This is true.  She can't walk across the kitchen without batting her eyelashes at you and looking coy.

 We drew King Tut.
{Svea is learning about the New Kingdom of Egypt right now.}

Elin's King Tut masterpiece.

 And the V-man's.
They did a great job!
Svea taped hers on the wall next to her bed.
Nothing like waking up and seeing King Tut in the morning, I guess.

A little tomb-raiding in the playmobil pyramid.

Bonus picture of a special dinner guest.
Nate worked uber-late last week one night and missed dinner, so . . . I guess if you aren't at the table for dinner, you get replaced by Stuffy the teddy.
